Calvin's Bath

Calvin's Bath is truly a delight to see and use. It is in the tradition of celebration of water as element, ZLG's classic concept to make the ordinary room a Temple of Water, complete with glass curtain shower design and a forest themed screen printed glass wall. Column box [with mirror] and black granite plinth detail appear as sculptural objects within this space, housing both the custom black granite washbasin and the water supply spout design.

External Awareness

View of the other side of the BOH Visitor Centre wash area, showing the open relationship of the toilets and vanity to the site, a very bright and airy part of the building. A very simple cast canopy in white plastered concrete, skim-caoted in white, protects the area from driving rain whilst a bamboo cladded wall splashback functioning as screen supports a aluminium-framed mirror panel. Black painted metal railing detail at the back of the wash area in simple steel flat bars design in minimalist approach as barriers, unobstructing views to the landscape beyond.

Morten's Bath

Morten's bath is mirrored and completely open to the master bedroom suite. Finished in natural timber and stone, black absoluto bathtub and ebony floor boards throughout. Plinth basin detail [in white ceramic] shows the intent or concept of making everything inside this bathroom a sculptural object. The soffit is finished in a rustic polished wood material, a surface not normally used in bathrooms.
