Wires adorn the "invisible" roof, made to support decorative items during festive events or for effects at night. Project completed within 8 months of ZLG's appointment. Located in Beijing's art district, for China's premier lighting company ZHONGTAI Holdings of Shanghai.

Finally the Beijing showroom has come to look, well almost exactly as we've designed it, bare and minimal but sensously decorated with the richest chinese materials of this region. The silver canopy, with its mirrored stainless steel edges reflect exactly Zhongtai's esteemed reputation for quality and precision in their core lifetsyle business.

Wired Courtyard

Stainless steel wires stretch across courtyard. Local red stone from Beijing. 15 ft. high mirrored wall and wooden fence surrounds. Rotating stainless steel canopy marks main entrance. Ground lights inserted into pavement.

Reversible Text

Stainless steel detail with inset reversed text for entry canopy to Zhongtai new HQ in Beijing. Courtyard lined with local black stone. Wooden fence and surrounds. Project will house collection of luxury lighting products and offcies for 40 persons.

Mirror Mirror

2.8m high mirrored finish stainless steel canopy-puncutred entry into mirrored wall, stainless steel wires over entire courtyard area. Beijing showroom due to open late 2005.

beijing showroom: early studies

Approach concept to the Beijing showroom for ZHONGTAI HOLDINGS. Facade made from polished mirror stainless steel, and canopy with cast-in text plate. Tree-lined courtyard and overcast steel wire roof.
 
This study constructed the image of a courtyard, later to be used for functions and events, jst outside the old building.
