BOH Visitor Centre Malaysia

medium_1038.UM.boh_003.3.jpgThe BOH Visitor Centre is an International PAM award winning building design, recently opened to the public, and now hosting events for designers, artists and the general public. A building that remains warm and simple, albeit its complex functions of visitor centre, cafeteria, tea showroom and sales offices and exhibition centre.

Strip Teas

medium_1038.mainapproach.2.jpgA breathtaking view of the approach to the building, another great photograph courtesy of Mr Dorian LANDERS of HostAsia who directed this project.

Destined to mark a new direction for Malaysian Architecture, this building uses modern principles to organise the layout and planning whilst utilising natural materials and very utilitarian techniques for the facade and the ceilings, in order to derive our very own "tropical minimal" design.

BOH's balcony

BOH Visitor Center boasts a great view of the valley, off from the open balcony, completely elevated and cantilevered off the ground for maximum effect. As an extension to the tea and cafe area, this balcony gives visitors opportunities to just lay back, reflect and enjoy the views after along day out walking the fields or trekking the tea estate, and serves to welcome guests with a casual and informal way, before and after visiting the old factory attached to the other end of this 140m long building.
